Criminal Law in the Netherlands.

You received a suspended sentence or a sentence with a suspended part. Read the actual judgment and execution information. Identify the immediate part, suspended part, probation period and conditions separately.

A reporting duty, treatment requirement or restriction needs a practical explanation. Ask when it starts, what it covers and whom you must contact. Do not rely only on a short verbal summary.

Make a realistic plan for appointments, travel and other obligations. Save written instructions and confirmation of attendance. Tell the supervising service promptly if something becomes impossible.

Explain changed work, care or health circumstances to your lawyer and supervisor. Ask who can change the relevant condition. Do not assume an informal conversation has changed a court requirement.

A suspected breach can have serious consequences, but the facts and applicable decision need examination. Keep relevant messages and documents and seek legal advice promptly.

Save every response and formal decision. Ask what applies while a request is considered. Do not change your own obligations on the assumption that a requested adjustment will be granted.
