You want to speak as a victim at the criminal hearing. First confirm whether you have the right to speak in this procedure and how you can indicate in advance that you want to make use of this.
Think about what you want to tell the court and what consequences are important to you. You don't have to make a legal argument. Prepare a text that you can use in your own way.
Discuss with your support person or lawyer what you need to be able to speak. Ask how the hearing will proceed and what practical support is available. Submit any concerns in a timely manner.
A statement in the context of the right to speak has a different role than witness evidence. Ask for an explanation if you are also heard as a witness. The conditions and purpose of those moments differ.
A statement of right to speak does not automatically constitute a filed claim for damages. If you want to request reimbursement, discuss separately which application, amounts and documents are required and when you will submit them.
The judge continues to decide independently on evidence and punishment. Discuss what you need after the hearing and how you will receive the ruling. Support can also be important after speaking.
