Criminal Law in the Netherlands.

You will be notified that your community service will be converted into custody in place of community service. Take this seriously immediately and seek legal help. Have the formal objection route and the applicable deadline checked immediately.

Collect the original decision and notices about carrying out the sentence. Discuss missed appointments, warnings and negative reporting. Also check how many hours have already been completed.

Provide concrete information about issues that affected implementation. Keep appropriate supporting documents. A general statement that things were difficult does not automatically explain every missed appointment.

Discuss what is now needed to feasibly carry out the community service. Think of planning, transport, care and guidance. Only make promises that you can keep with the available support.

A conversation with the community service supervisor does not automatically replace the statutory objection procedure. Record who carries out the process step and how receipt is confirmed. Don't wait for an informal solution.

Have it explained what applies after the objection or assessment. Save the decision and check all new appointments. Don't assume that a request will automatically freeze execution.
